Technology and education

Why should teachers use technology?!
Think for a moment....
The teacher enters the class,the projector is on and the slides pass one after another,one more attractive than the other.The pupils get enthusiastic by the colours,figures and eagerly waiting to see what comes next.All of them are attending the lesson attentively.

Another situation,a teacher who enters the class and talks and writes on the board and,the pupils who listen and write down notes all the time.Some pupils gasp for sleep.Others who get tired,try to get something more attractive to do.In this class the pupils seem to be distracted.

These two different situations show the difference of using technology and lack of it.Some teachers are afraid of using technology in the class because they think that using it would grasp their position but actually it is a tool which helps them a lot in their work.It makes their work easier and more interesting.Using the technology is very helpful in every aspect of life but it gets more valuable as it facilitates language learning.
First of all,in order to get the right pronunciation of the language it is better if the pupils listen the right pronunciation of the language by the native speakers.So it is the duty of the teacher to find the tools  to achieve it.In this case they must know how to use the tape CD and computer programs,too.
Secondly,It will take more time to the teacher to draw the boards and present into the class the pictures taken from different magazines or books to make clear the meaning of the words,but everything gets easier using PowerPoint and different videos.
So to conclude,training the teachers on how to use technology in the most appropriate way in the class is of great importance.This won't help only the teacher but the pupils,too as they will find technology very helpful not only in classes but in everyday life,too.

Communicative language learning

Edit Communicative language teaching  (CLT) emphasizes interaction as both the means and the ultimate goal of learning a language. Despite a number of criticisms, it  continues to be popular, particularly in  Japan ,  Taiwan , a nd Europe. In India CBSE ( Central Board of Secondary Education) has adopted this approach in its affiliated schools. The  task-based language learning  approach to CLT has gained ground in recent years. Proponents believe CLT is important for developing and improving speaking, writing, listening, and reading skills, and that it prevents students' merely listening passively to the teacher without interaction.Dogme is a similar communicative approach that encourages teaching without published textbooks, instead focusing on conversational communication among the learners and the teacher.

The use of electronic dictionaries during learning process!

Hi everyone! We all know that during the process of learning vocabulary the pupils need to use the dictionary.In the first place,it is hard and boring using all the time a book dictionary.If the pupils have an electronic one,they can learn vocabulary easier. Secondly,when they check for a new word,they can also listen the pronunciation by voice and this is great.They can also hear the origin and all the uses of the word in only one second. Furthermore,if the pupil don't want to write down the word,they can only say it by voice and the program will find it,the meaning too. Taking all things in consideration,we can notice that using electronic dictionaries is very useful in the learning process because you don't only find the meaning faster but you check the pronuncion by voice.
